12 Ways to Find Content Ideas for your Blog

Blogging is a long-term activity, so a blogger must always have a bunch of content ideas to keep his blog upgraded. Many bloggers find it hard to find new content ideas for their next blog post. They feel trapped and, most of them quit blogging.

I do know one of my colleagues who quit blogging just because of a lack of content ideas. Feeding the blog with new blog posts and information seemed daunting to her just because she was unable to think of what to write.

So, most bloggers have this question in their mind:

"How to find content ideas for a blog?"

When I was a beginner, I also had the same question in my mind. But then, I found paths of finding new blog ideas which helped me a lot in my blogging journey.

So, let's start with the ways of finding content ideas.

  1. Answer the Public:

Answer the Public is a website which allows three free types of research in a day. You can type your niche in the research bar and can find a lot of ideas related to your niche.

Those ideas are popular on Google so you can use those ideas as your keywords. Those words are from different resources and their types vary from general ideas to question and list types.

So, you can write them down or download the data for your future use.

  1. Hubspot Blog Ideas Generator:

In the Hubspot Blog Ideas Generator, you have to type the main niche of your blog. In it, you will get 5 blog ideas which will help you throughout the week.

It will tell you unique and interesting blog titles which will attract the attention of your audience.

  1. Quora:

Quora is a question-and-answer forum where people post different types of questions daily. Those questions are the issues they are facing or the information they are looking for, so it can be the best source to find blog ideas.

Just go to Quora, write your niche and you will find hundreds of questions. Turn those questions into your content.

  1. Twitter:

Twitter trends will give you some ideas about your blog posts. If you follow the people related to your industry, you can see their tweets and the questions they have in their minds. You can turn those tweets into your content.

Also, popular Twitter trends will give you new ideas for your content.

  1. FAQs:

You can find FAQs of your readers on your blog, social media accounts and your competitor's websites.

Open your blog or website, find out what your followers are asking you, and turn their questions into the content.

You can take FAQs from your social media inboxes and comment section. Or, you can conduct a question-answer session on your social media accounts.

I mostly use Instagram question stickers to get blog ideas. On my Instagram account, I mostly ask questions to my followers to know their interests and what issues they are facing. This gives me a bunch of content ideas.

You can also go to your competitor's websites and can see what he is writing and what his readers are commenting on the blog. Or, what I do is check my competitor's social media accounts. I have followed them and do keep checking their comment sections or their question-answer session with their followers.

You can do the same.

  1. LinkedIn:

LinkedIn is another social media account where entrepreneurs and freelancers mostly post their content. You can get blog ideas from there.

Follow your industry people and competitors and check their comment sections. Most of them do share short posts or carousels about a specific topic. You can take ideas from them.

Here, do remember not to plagiarize. Just take the ideas and the content, and create unique and well-informed content.

  1. Read the Newsletters:

Go to the popular websites of your industry and subscribe to their email newsletters. These newsletters will tell you what is trending and what people are reading.

You can turn that information into blog content.

  1. Hashtags:

Social media hashtags are also full of ideas. Go to the social media account and follow your industry-related hashtags.

Through hashtags, your feed will be full of content that your competitors are publishing and your readers are reading. So, while scrolling your Instagram or Facebook, you will be able to get new ideas.

  1. Empathize with your followers:

You have become a blogger after going through a journey in your niche. For example, I have become a content writer and freelancer after facing a lot of issues and hurdles. So, I can empathize with my followers.

My content mostly revolves around those issues or pain points which I face during my journey. All of you have gone through a journey and do know what your audience is feeling.

You just have to brainstorm those points that you face or your followers can be facing, and start making content about it.

  1. SlideShare:

On this website, you can find different slides and content about various types of industries.

You can search your industry and find the popular content over there. You can turn that popular content into blog ideas.

  1. YouTube:

YouTube videos and comments on them can give the bulk of blog ideas.

Follow the YouTube channels related to your niche, and watch their most recent videos and the popular ones. Read the comments on it to find the pain points of the viewers. Write the content related to it.

  1. Popular Posts on your Site:

Go back to your blog posts and find which are the popular ones. The blog post which has a high number of views and comments are the most popular ones.

Write new blog posts related to that topic. For example, if a resource-related post of yours becomes popular, write more posts related to resource content.

I prefer FAQs, LinkedIn, Hashtags and empathizing with followers. I found them interesting and easy to use but other ways have also helped me a lot.

Do try all of them and tell me which method you prefer the most.
