Many newbie freelancers are struggling with their Gigs on Fiverr. There are a lot of freelancers who have made their gig but it is not ranking, nor are they getting any orders. Many new freelancers are struggling while writing their gigs. If you are among them, then this blog is going to help you!

Fiverr is a great marketplace for freelancers. But, tough competition can cause hurdles in the journey of freelancers. A great hurdle they face is that they are unable to rank their gigs and find out the clients. But, this article is going to help you in ranking your gig. With one account, you can make seven gigs and can rank all of them if you follow the steps which I'm going to discuss in the article.

Read this article, and rank your gig on Fiverr.

Steps to Follow for Ranking Gig:

There are simple steps which you should follow if you want to rank your gig. Let's start with the steps.

  1. Explore Fiverr:

Very first step you should do is to explore Fiverr before writing your gig. At least, give 2-3 hours of exploring and then decide the content of your gig. You can explore Fiverr without making any account too. So, if you haven't made any account on Fiverr yet, don't worry! You can explore it without an account.

But, what should you explore in Fiverr?

  • Competition in your relevant niche:

If your niche is content writing, then search it on Fiverr. You will find out the "number of results" written, and that number will tell you how much competition this keyword has. More competition means more struggle to get orders, and less competition means less struggle to get orders. Find out the competition. If there is tight competition in your niche, follow the next step. And if your competition is less, you can skip the next step.

  • Find Long Tail keywords:

If your relevant niche has tight competition, change the keyword and find out the relevant long tail keyword. For example, if you are an expert in the Literature field and can write articles in this field, write "Literature related articles" in your search bar. If you are a non fiction writer, search it. If you are a blogger, then search for it. Become more specific in your search, type such keywords to find out less competitive keywords. But, in it, you have to take care of one thing too, which I'm going to discuss in the next point.

  • Number of orders and clients:

An important factor in the low competition keyword is the number of clients and orders which that specific keyword has. For example, if you search for a keyword "Linguistic related articles", and see that there are only 141 results for it, and you are like:

Wow! 141 results only! Such a low competition! I'm going for it!

No! Wait! You don't only have to see the competition, but also have to see whether the ranking gigs of the relevant keyword is getting orders or not. For it, see the number of orders first four to five ranking gigs have completed, and whether they have any order in queue or not. For example, look at the image below:

Cool denis has completed 74 orders and 3 of his orders are in queue.

You have to see these two facts too in your relevant keywords. If the first row of your relevant low competition keyword has completed a significant number of orders and has orders in queue, that keyword is perfect for you.

But if there are no significant number of completed orders and in queue orders, it means the client is not looking for such keywords and making a gig with this keyword is not going to give you any benefit.

Keep on trying different keywords which have less competition then the main keyword. But, in case, if you didn't find any such keyword,  you can go with the more competitive keyword. And brace yourself for tight competition.

  • Observe ranking gigs:

Now, you have explored Fiverr and have found the suitable keyword for your gig, it is time to observe ranking gigs of your relevant keyword. Observing them doesn't mean you are going to copy paste them. No! Find out which and how they are representing their services, and how you can add more value into your gig. Observe them, plan your gig, leave the first step and land into the next one.

  1. Make your Portfolio:

If you have already made your portfolio, then it is good to skip to the third step. But if you haven't, start making the portfolio all at once.

First of all, let me explain to you the definition of portfolio.

Portfolios are the samples of your work which you have to show to your client in order to get the orders. That portfolio can be your personal work, or work done during any internship, or work done for any client. If you haven't done any internship or never got any order from your client, don't worry! You can do a sample work on your own, and can take screenshots of it. For example, Portfolio of content writers can contain articles on any topic written on their Google Docs or Word Documents.

Do write or make your portfolio relevant to your niche. If you are going to make your gig on "pets care", write an article on this topic. If you are going to make a gig related to logo designing, make a logo and take a screenshot of it.

Adding Portfolio screenshots in your gig is going to help you a lot. Do make it before making your gig.

  1. Make an Account on Fiverr:

Sign up on Fiverr as it is imperative for making the gig. If you are using mobile, then you are unable to make the gig. For it, you have to switch to your laptop.

In your account, add all of your services and give a professional introduction of yours to your client. Your introduction will also be a part of your gig, so make it professional and elaborative.

Also, add a professional picture of yours on Fiverr. Smiling and professional attire will attract clients.

After making an account on Fiverr, follow the fourth step.

  1. Make the gig:

Last but the most difficult step!

You have to take great care while making the gig.

Before writing your gig, make sure that you have low competition but a demanding keyword with you. If you haven't, you should have the idea of what type of services and descriptions ranking gigs of your keyword have.

Beware! In your gig description, you only have to write those services which you can provide to your client. Otherwise, you can face harsh circumstances.

Also, in your gig description, add only that information which is relevant to your gig service. For example, if you are going to make a gig of non-fiction writing, all the content in your gig should be restrictive toward your non fiction skills. Client is reading your gig because he is interested in your non-fiction skills. If you start talking about your fiction skills in your gig, it will irritate your client, and also will affect your gig SEO.

  • Add Banner:

Most important thing is to add a banner in your gig. Make an attractive banner relative to your gig title, and elaborate your skills related to the specific gig into it. See some examples below to get an idea:

Just look at the banners these top rated or second seller freelancers have! Make such banners for your gig so that clients find your gig interesting and attractive.

  • Add Screenshots of your Portfolio:

After Banner, there should come the screenshots of your portfolio. It will add credibility to your gig and the client will trust you.

  • SEO of your gig:

To rank your gig, SEO is another important element.

So, how to do SEO for your gig?

Add your keyword everywhere into your gig. If your main keyword is "Blog writing", then your title should have this keyword, your banner should have this keyword, your pricing part should have this keyword, your description and your tags should contain this keyword.

Beware! Don't overstuff the keyword. Fiverr will identify it.

For accurate SEO, use the keyword everywhere but only once. Your title should have this keyword only one time, your pricing, your banner and your tags should have this keyword only one time. Only in the description, you can add it twice if there is need or your description is long. Otherwise, using it once is perfect.

  • Write engaging description:

Your description should contain each and every information about your gig, it should encourage your client to contact you, and it should reflect your professional side. Engage your client through the word game in your description, so that client will come to you.

  • Share your gig on different social media platforms:

Share the link of your gig on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. This can help you in getting impressions and clicks, and can help you in getting your first client.

Do remember, your gig will take seven days at least to get acknowledged. Don't expect that you have made a gig yesterday, and today you are going to get a client. Fiverr will take seven to eight days to acknowledge your gig. Even if you have done editing in your gig, it will take seven days too.

Have patience and keep on believing in yourself!

Okay, now you have a ranking gig and are getting orders. Still, there are some points which you should have in mind if you don't want your gig to derank or don't want to see a fall in your Fivere career.

How to Prevent Deranking of Fiverr Gig:

Take care of these points and you will avoid such scenarios.

  • In your gig, never use the terms "assignment" or "academic writing". Fiverr will remove your gig. In place of assignments, you can use term "task"

  • In your description, do ask your client to contact you first before placing the order.

  • When a client will come to you with his order, do negotiate about his requirements first. See the documents or information he is giving to you, and figure out whether you can do this order or not.

  • If you are unable to understand the project, never agree to that order. Unable to complete the order or negative feedback will affect your ranking.

  • If a client has placed the order without prior messaging, and you are unable to understand the project, do contact "Customer Service Center" and ask them to remove the order.

  • It will still affect your ranking. So, send an email to "Customer Service Center" and tell them that the fault is from the client's side. Do give the reference of your description and tell that that client doesn't contact you before placing the order.

  • If due to a negative feedback, your gig derank, try to find a new client as soon as possible. Reach the clients on your own. Positive feedback is imperative for you in such scenarios. You can also add a new service or gig into your account, and can rank it. It will also improve your status.
